Abstract

ABSTRACT

 

Gastritis is an inflammation of the lining of the stomach wall, this inflammation can cause swelling of the gastric mucosa until the epithelium is released from the digestive tract. Gastritis is generally caused by Helicobacter pylori infection, but there are several factors that influence a person to experience gastritis, including drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, caffeine, stress, and diet. This study to determine the factors associated with the incidence of gastritis. This study uses quantitative research with a descriptive correlation design using a Cross Sectional approach. The sample is 55 respondents. The study was conducted in June 2020. This study used the chi-square test to determine the relationship. The results of the study as many as 55 respondents found that there was a relationship between diet and the incidence of gastritis with p value = 0.013 <0.05. There is a relationship between stress factors and the incidence of gastritis with p value = 0.000 <0.05. There is a relationship between taking drugs that irritate the stomach with the incidence of gastritis with p value = 0.020 <0.05. There is a relationship between consuming coffee and the incidence of gastritis with p value = 0.043 <0.05. There is a relationship between diet and the incidence of gastritis, the stress factor with the incidence of gastritis, the factor of taking drugs with the incidence of gastritis, the factor of consuming coffee with the incidence of gastritis.
